The lower loop was in terrible shape this morning. Thick breakable snowpack made for slow going and treacherous downhills. Once I made it to the meadow I could ski-set a track that was okay. Groomed at 9AK today. Warm out there with temps in mid-30’s. Redid classic and skate. Should both be worth the trip there to ski.

Yesterday afternoon the lower loop had plenty of snow but a breakable wind crust, I wouldn’t recommend it. There was a skier set track from the day before but some bozo post holed on foot in the track all the way around the meadow, so the track was wrecked. Aaaargh!...Dec 19, 2023 | Mendenhall Campground
