Monday update at the campground

January 29. grooming is postponed until later. Winds back here are extremely strong with gusts greater than 50. Things are flying around. And of course, the horizontal rain is pretty impressive too. -DG-

“Trail groomed, dog shit and all”

Following up on Jeff’s comment — Does anyone else feel like something needs to be done about the dog shit on the ski trails problem? It seems to be getting worse. I know people like to ski with their dogs, but why should the rest of us have to be dodging big smears of...

Snow machine loop

Parking lot closed while the rangers plow and deal with ice. There is a narrow snow machine loop through the campground that one could classic on – deep heavy snow outside of the track.

Wet & heavy

Roller groomed with many footsteps. Skating possible & classic using existing track. Conditions should get better over time.

All Eaglecrest trails groomed

Good News Saturday – it’s all in and has all been groomed for you! Both the upper and lower Nordic loop have been groomed for classic and skate skiing as of this morning.

Pioneer is okay!

Maybe not groomed to perfection before the equipment failure, but the entire way is groomed for skate and the classic track seems fine the entire way too. The corduroy is a bit roughed up from equipment tracks, but not horrible.

Done grooming

1100 finished. Rain started about 1030. Nice classic set but quickly trampled by dogs. Skate soft, a few holes where I stuck the machine. Too sticky and heavy to run teeth to take out lumps and prints but mostly a good surface when I finished. BF
