Breakable crust

We have breakable crust conditions up to at least 2,000 feet, so not good backcountry skiing conditions. Need more snow!

Saturday Groomer

9 am start for the grooming. Set no classic, due to lack of snow, but groomed a wide skate swath. Lake was funky, no track set. Done by 10:30.

Saturday noon Lower Loop

Jack groomed nice classic trail. Snowing gently. Mostly decent skiing. Bring scraper and maxiglide if you ice up after damp spots in meadow . Note trail is officially closed.

EC update 12/6

Heading up to reset the lower loop classic track, should be done by 10:30. No skate grooming, not enough snow.

Mendenhall Lake skiing

Word is the lake has decent skiing for skate on the perimeter due to refreezing, and classic skiing. The lake can change daily so make sure to consider the conditions.

Camp Ground

Camp ground was Ginzu groomed several times today. Report that skate skiing was outstanding. It will be groomed Saturday morning. The racing kids well be there at 10 am.

Lower loop

Lower Loop at 3:00 thursday has narrow classic track. Very hard and fast but totally skiable for intermediate/advanced. Downhills are scary. Meadow is fun. No wax touring skis better than race skis. Muscular thighs and precision balance, like mine, highly recommended....

Camp ground

Steve Box groomed camp grand this morning. Went over it twice tring to fill holes. Two skaters reported that is was Good.

Eaglecrest update December 4th

I reset the Lower Loop classic track yesterday afternoon, and skied it afterwards. The snow had thawed and refrozen, so the track is a little rough and a bit icy, but coverage is still good. CAUTION — the downhills are icy and rocket fast, and the ungroomed snow...

Mendenhall Camp Ground

We had problems with groomer this morning. Will be moving machine from Montana Cr tomorrow to Camp ground. Hoping we can use the Ginzu to smooth the holes out a little. We have very little snow to work with.

xcskier

Despite the frozen in dog and people and ski tracks the campground was o.k late this afternoon. Whoohoo!
