Thought it was time to change up the Spaulding conditions for 2017. Skiable from parking lots both ends of trailhead. Tree route on Peterson side pretty good skiing. Deep snow, fun skiing. Use big baskets if you have them.

Eagle Beach campground was groomed for skate and classic Saturday morning. Snow was cold and soft at 7:30am, but will likely warm and set up somewhat as the sun hits it later in the day. Probably a blue wax morning / purple wax afternoon. Methodist Loop is still set...

Did 2 Montana Creek round trips Thursday afternoon – 8.5/10. Despite soft snow, groomers did a great classic track set. Just need a couple of nights below freezing a new grooming run to be a ten. Not a lot of traffic, so the classic track was grrrreat!

Lower Loop

Upper loop not groomed with about 2 inches of heavy powder on the trail as of 5 pm yesterday. Tried waxless classic skiis first but had heavy build up. Switched to wax classic skiis with blue wax and that did the trick.
