Montana Creek is outstanding for skate and classic today! Thank you groomers! I skated, but the classic tracks are in perfect shape. The temp is around freezing and warming, so not sure of the kick wax – maybe VR55 (?). No-wax skis may be a good choice...Dec 2, 2017 | Mendenhall Campground

Hard snow, deep ruts and posthole footprints, but groomed up nicely with the ginzu for the most part. The ginzu did not want to turn, so I did wander a bit across the classic tracks. Looks like Montana Creek was groomed for skate and classic today. There is a hole in the middle of the trail near the bottom of the first hill and it goes down to the pavement. Beware! Scott groomed the Mendenhall Campground and the new side trail on the other side of the road for skate and classic. He reports the snow groomed out perfectly and despite the wet weather it is good skiing.
