Lower loop still decent on waxless skis at 1 pm today. Lighter rain and shelter from the wind on most of the trail.

Eaglecrest lower loop has standing water

Due to standing water on the lower loop, Eaglecrest groomers cannot go out on the track to groom. The good news is that the rain should end by tomorrow and colder temps are in the forecast, so stand by for a hopefully better report by Thursday.

The lower loop was nicely groomed today and skiing was very nice. Snow is soft and forgiving, skate skiing lane wide and sweet, classic track well set. Don’t let the rain deter you! It’s a skier’s playground at Eaglecrest.

Lower Eaglecrest fantastic today for a fat man on fish scale nordic skiis. The grab is good on the steep uphill parts. About an inch of new snow.

Conditions are excellent for skating and classic even though they haven’t groomed since Monday morning. The winds are gone and so is most of the tree debris. Get vitamin D ~9:20 for an hour and again at 11 ish.

The Eaglecrest Lower Loop trail continues to offer the best skate and classic skiing in Juneau. Absolutely perfect conditions. Smooth, wide corduroy skate track. Deep classic track. Nothing but skiers on the trail. Just like heaven.

Lower loop spectacular. Start Green or another cold wax will generate awesome glide. Complaints? I have a few , I’m a cross country skier, but over all Bravo to the team at Eaglecrest for Monday’s grooming.
