No fresh grooming – thin snow cover

The lower loop snow cover is very thin and Eaglecrest made the wise decision to not take the snowcat out on the trail yesterday so as not to expose more rocks. The track is still set for skate and classic but it is rough and conditions are fast. Watch for hazards. The upper loop was set for skate skiing a couple of days ago, but no fresh grooming due to the thin snowpack. In this case, it is a concern about breaking through to the wet muskeg. Bottom line – we need snow!
