I will set a classic track on the Eaglecrest lower loop by noon today. Waiting for a bit more snow, as of yesterday afternoon the trail needed another 3-4 inches to set a classic track. However, the skiing with only a skier-made track was surprisingly good for only a 3 inch packed base, good snow coverage on the gravel trail, no bare spots, with a few icy spots from runoff.
No dogs on the groomed lower loop trail, please, they ruin the classic track. You can snowshoe or walk your dog on the ungroomed Lower Meadows trail or up the Eaglecrest mountain road, or ski with them on the wider trails at the campground and Montana Creek. Thanks.
