Eaglecrest update

5.5 km set on the lower loop. No classic track. Trail is groomed from the lodge along the upper forest trail and out to the meadow. Both the inner and outer meadow loops are set. The trail leading from the lower parking is groomed. The full Fish Creek loop is groomed. From the meadow, the lower Forest Trail is groomed all the way back to the lodge trailhead. Watch for patches of brush sticking up in certain areas and occasional patches of small gravel that can be easily avoided. The skiing is best on the meadow loops – clean and fast. Classic skiing is possible without a set track, but the firm skate track makes it a little “skittery”. The only parts of the trail that are not groomed are Guy’s Hill and Ken’s Hill, which probably don’t have enough snow. Happy Solstice! Betsy F.
