A gift from Sayéik. Just finished rolling the road. It was snowing so hard the corduroy would disappear in 10min. So as of now it is deep and soft – a great night tour. Heading out first thing in the morning to groom it again. Hope to be able to set a classic...

Thanks to Hank Lentfer and David Berg the Pioneer Rd is once again clear of treesDec 19, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
Too thin to ski, too thick to drink. The snow just gets thinner as you move out the road, plus the CanAm threw a track this morning, recovery efforts are proceeding.Dec 17, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
Did a couple of passes with the roller to smooth things out. Thanks to Island boy the downed tree is out of the way. Good for skate and fish scales. No track set until we get a little bit more snow.Dec 16, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
Made 4 passes with the roller from 1600-1830. Good for first attempt and low snow. Will hit it again tomorrow. Be careful of rocks especially at the pallet bridge.Nov 7, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
The coverage is great. Bring your classic or touring gear. There are ski tracks and foot paths through the fluff. The base under foot is firm.Mar 21, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
Good coverage. Remove skis at two points. Firmer/icy in a few places especially in the beginning but great skiing still. No wax classic for the dirty snow.Mar 17, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
The road was groomed Sunday morning. I was unable to do the classic track as it was frozen. The skate lane turned out decent. Grooming may be over for the season but it is still good skiing – just wait until late morning for the surface to soften a bit. There...Mar 11, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
Finished resetting at 2300. It should be decent skiing Thursday. The southern 3km turned out the best. There are two sections in the middle that have some rocks – those areas do not have a classic track set so be aware and enjoy. Border to Border this Sunday. It...Mar 1, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
Groomed at 1pm today. Still good. Careful on two 75’ sections that have exposed gravel. Was starting to get a little blue sky. Rain soaked snow but still fast.Feb 29, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
Pioneer will not be groomed today. It is skiable with some very thin sections. Watch out for small rocks. Hopefully we’ll get the snow in the forecastFeb 26, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
Finished grooming at 9pm last night. Compacted and classic track set. Hopefully that will help it ride out this warm up. Should be fun. If a bit soft.Feb 25, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
Pioneer. Groomed for skate and classic. There was 5 plus inches this morning when I got there and a new fresh inch on this mornings groom. Still waiting for it’s first skier.Feb 25, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
Will start grooming at 9 and done by noonFeb 24, 2020 | N. Douglas Pioneer Road
There was a dusting of new snow Monday afternoon. It’s fast for skating. Bring your scales, skins, or ice klister for grip in the tracks.
