Saturday 2/20

Treacherous access. Dust on Ice this am. Above the bridge it cleaned up nice. Classic snd skating will be soft. An attempt will be made to groom late tonight so the track can harden for Sunday.

Groomer

Groomed, Friday 2-19, not much has changed, icy until before the mudslide, rocks showing before the mudslide groomers beware. snowing when I left there 10AM. Topped off the gas tank. Good skate skiing after mudslide.

Montana Creek

Montana Creek Groomed for skate skiing. Gate to Bottom 1st hill pare pavement. hence ice to 1.5 kilometers. Good skiing from 1.8 kilometers to end of trail. Watch for rocks. Ice cleats recommended.

Groomer

There is soft skate skiing conditions above the avalanche area but due to icy conditions below it is not possible to get the groomer there and back. Feels like spring.

Attempt at Grooming

Groomed this morning. 45 degrees and melting fast. The first 1 1/2 k (1 mile) is ice. But after the landslide the skiing is pretty good. Just a lot of walking to get there. Bring grippers.
