Fresh snow at Eaglecrest – upper loop groomed

The Upper Trails will have great conditions, around 4-5 km, skate and classic. We could get 1-2″ throughout the day, so come early! The Lower Trails are no longer being groomed due to low snowpack. However, the past few days (our weekend) have been a good...

It’s snowing!

Tromped around the Upper Loop this morning from 9:30(ish) to 10:30(ish)–it was dumping snow! (Even in the parking lot!)

Upper loop – excellent groomed ski trail

There may be rain and wet snow at the upper loop level, but the tracks are groomed and the skiing should still be very good. The snow is clean, the tracks should be good, and with any luck the temps will drop soon and we can get back to fresh snow at the Hilda Creek...

Upper 1 loop remains excellent

Still excellent skiing on the upper loop. The lower loop will not be groomed until there is more snow. The ski pass count today was strong – 51 skiers between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Thank you to everyone who remembered to have their pass with them. Let’s...
Ski the upper loop and don’t forget your nordic pass!

Ski the upper loop and don’t forget your nordic pass!

I’ll be on the upper loop tomorrow checking for nordic trail passes. Thanks for having your trail pass with you when you come up. The skiing is fantastic and I look forward to seeing many happy skiers up there! You can buy your pass at the Porcipine Lodge ticket...

Upper and lower loops groomed

All trails groomed for skate and classic. Snowing at the base. Wet spots and the usual dirt spots starting to show on the lower loop. Upper loop is skiing great! The upper trails are now measuring 4km with a longer Troy loop, expanded trail on Black Bear hill and more...

Lower loop expanded

The lower loop grooming expanded to include the Fish Creek loop and one section of the inner meadow loop, for a total of 5.5 groomed km. Good skiing despite the wet snowy weather. I didn’t check the upper loop but that should also be groomed for skate and...

Lower and upper loops soft and clean

Trails were groomed this morning and then covered with soft new snow, so classic only is recommended. Be careful of the drive up. Road is plowed and sanded but there are cars stuck along the way that you have to avoid.

Lower and upper loops groomed

Both lower and upper loops groomed for skate and classic. Upper loop in great shape. Nordic team race happening on upper loop this morning. Lower loop is in better shape with trace of new snow. Best to avoid trail leading to Fish Creek. Some debris on forest trail...

Hard as a rock

Lower loop was rock hard at 230 pm with lots of gravel and waas – I thought anyway – unskiable. I even took my skis off and walked back the lower parking lot chute to avoid certain disaster, so sorry for the size 51 ski boot tracks!

Lower loop groomed for skate and classic

Lower loop groomed. Some interconnecting loops added in meadow. Upper loop not groomed today but will be groomed tomorrow. You can still classic ski tour in the soft snow on upper loop.

Upper loop powder day

Upper loop covered with fresh soft snow. Fine for classic touring but a bit more challenging for skate skiing. Black Bear hill is fun!
