Conditions were soft, wet and fast. Temp was 37f. There is something encouraging about seeing so many Juneau skiers out on a perfectly horrible rainy day, making the best of it. The excitement is infectious. J. Thedinga pulled the morning shift and L. Kulm did most of the afternoon work with advice and criticism from R. Imel and so the complaints buck should be parked there. D. Garner dropped in with some useful advice for the hapless riders in the far park at W/ Glacier Trail head once they lost traction in the Zamboni lot. The trail that parallels the road that goes to the West Glacier Parking Lot got some much needed attention. Some people call this the Wild Iris Trail because of all the wild iris found along the trail in the summer. What ever you call it feel free to use it and help pack down and consolidate the snow. Pro-tip: this is a great trail to walk your dogs along, there is always parking at the far end, and finicky skiers will appreciate it. Of course you can walk your dogs on any trail, that is the law. Just remember the law part about picking up the poop and we will be cool.
