Many thanks to the CBJ Parks and Recreation staff for their work on the most recent draft of the Montana Creek Master Plan. Round two of public comment is open and all comments must be received by December 21st at 5pm.

More information on the status of the plan can be found on the project website, along with last week’s public presentation, the current draft plan, and most recent round of public comments.

The Juneau Nordic Ski Club is working on a formal reply, but in the meantime you can submit your own comments thanking CBJ for the inclusion, and further development, of cross country ski trails. This includes a connector trail from Montana Creek to the Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area, replacing the now broken bridge across Montana Creek, increased access to Spaulding Meadows from the Montana Creek valley, and a new non-motorized trail on the northeast side of the Montana Creek valley.

Comments must be received by December 21st at 5pm and can be emailed to Parks.Rec@juneau.org.

Don’t delay, your comments have already made a difference and will continue to impact the future of Juneau’s favorite skiing destination!
