Mother Nature has put some white frosting on Mendenhall Lake just in time for Karlynn’s Classic Chocolate Cake Kick for Kilometers Ski Race aka the Choco-Loppet Saturday 1/27, 10:30 AM.
It’s National Chocolate Cake Day and her classic recipe guarantees you will have at least one helping (1 lap, just over 4 km), or if you just cannot resist and must go for a second helping (2 laps, under 9 km). Those having one helping will swirl their frosting counter clockwise. Those having 2 pieces of cake will swirl their frosting clockwise. All skiers must stop for a mini chocolate muffin.
This has all the ingredients of a good time. Don’t miss a piece of the action. When you blow out the candles make sure to pick all the wax off the frosting:)

Note: This is in lieu of a race at Eagle Beach.
