We did it!

September 2023 – With the support of the City and Borough of Juneau, the Rasmuson Foundation, Juneau Community Foundation, AARP Alaska, and dozens of local businesses and individuals, we met our goal of upgrading and expanding our fleet of grooming equipment! This includes two new Can Am machines and an entire new set of grooming implements (ginzu groomer and compacter/roller). We are now able to house a full set of grooming equipment at each trail head this winter, plus a backup set ready to deploy when the inevitable breakdown pulls a machine out of service. This means less interruptions to our operations and more enjoyment of freshly maintained ski trails throughout the borough by you.

This also means we may be grooming more kilometers and more trails this winter than ever before!  With the Montana Creek bridge now replaced, we plan to reincorporate Juneau’s most reliable ski trail back into our grooming rotation while continuing to maintain snow on Salmon Creek Road and Dredge Lakes (last winter’s substitutes for Montana Creek) alongside old stalwarts like Pioneer Road and the Mendenhall Campground and Lake area. All of this is made possible thanks to the financial support of many! Thank you!
